Today's European Union

The European Union said on Wednesday it postponed negotiations with Bangladesh on a new cooperation agreement after criticism of Dhaka's response to contain deadly protests that killed at least 150 people this month. Govt. declared 150. BBC said 266 and 'Prothom Alo' newspaper said 264. Student protesters demanded more than a thousand had died (appx.). "The Daily Star" published 02 August 2024. That was a great decline for our country.

The cooperation pact seeks to enhance trade, economic, and developmental relations between Bangladesh and the EU, which is the main trading partner for the South Asian country, accounting for 20.7% of Bangladesh's trade in 2023.

EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell last week criticized a reported "shoot on sight policy" in Bangladesh, killings "perpetrated by the authorities" as well as killings of law enforcement officers, mass arrests, and property damage.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government has denied any live rounds were fired, but hospital sources said the injured as well as dead bore wounds from bullets and shotgun pellets.

Furthermore, Dhaka University campus protesters, university teachers, and guardians of students together procession and announced that no bullets for students anymore. If happens again then the government must Regine of course. Circumstances were not very good.

Some people also support government steps. 'Jamat Shibir' banned for politics in Bangladesh.

Finally, now schools, Colleges, and Universities are closed. a lot more time-consuming. On the other hand no study no exams. Days have gone away nobody has thought about these matters. Not only education premises but also business, small industry, and restaurant sales fall. People could find the way out. The situation is how long days cover nobody gives answers.
